WSB's Bill Hoffman New ABC Affils Board Chairman

Atlanta GM succeeds McGraw-Hill's Darell Brown

WSB Atlanta VP/General Manager Bill Hoffman was named the new chairman of the ABC affiliates board. ABC's affiliates body is meeting in Los Angeles today and tomorrow for its annual meeting.

The Hoffman-helmed WSB is a market leader in DMA No. 8.

Hoffman has been active in board affairs in the past. He succeeds McGraw-Hill broadcast President Darrell Brown as board chairman.

ABC's affiliate board met in Las Vegas last month, where it discussed the desire for some hits in the 10 p.m. hour, ABC's ambitions to launch more successful comedies after this year's rookies, and the network's efforts to get more males to tune in.
